Blogging. It can be seen as a very narcissistic past time, full of oversharing and bragging and believing that whatever you have to say is important to everyone. It's not; not always. I find it to be a very liberating experience. It's full of soul searching, self realization, and expounding on thoughts and experiences. It's kind of like dreaming or teaching; it organizes thoughts in another way and gives you further insight into them. I like it.
So, on the note of thinking, I've been doing it a lot lately. I like it, too. It's helped me come up with a more solid plan. It's helped me understand more about myself. It's helped me form sagacious conclusions and connections about and between all the things I'm constantly learning.
The cool thing about thinking is that once you really start to do it and focus on it, it starts to flow and happen more and more naturally. I'll be thinking and not even realize it until an epiphany hits me. It's great. It also starts coming easier when you try to do it. Purposefully drawing conclusions and deriving explanations happens more and more quickly and smoothly.
I also have a theory that it helps spark creativity. Since I've been thinking more, I've had more inspiration for writing music and lyrics. I haven't written any lyrics in at least a year and I haven't written much music in at least that long either. I've come up with a couple songs and a few more parts of songs with in the past month or so and good portions of lyrics for a few songs.
So I guess it's kinda true what they say about the brain being a muscle, except the part where it's fatty tissue and electrical impulses. But other than that, it's true. The more you work it out, the better it works.
The lesson here, then, is to think more. About anything. Just think.
Till next time...
